We are crypto natives that have lived and breathed in this space since 2012. We’ve held through the highest peaks and the lowest lows and only think long term.

We provide access to a wide range of in-house advisory services (incl. economic and protocol design, modelling and simulation, token engineering, research and writing) and strong networks in the crypto space to help our founders flourish.

We have been active investors in the crypto community for almost a decade and have developed strong reputations and long term relationships with high integrity and likeminded people within the crypto space.

Many of our introductions are through warm referrals and we favour a light, human, and relaxed approach to our relationships. However, we still maintain an incredibly high standard and work ethic.

Our name comes from the “Paperclip Maximizer” thought experiment first described by Nick Bostrom, which postulated that if a sufficiently powerful Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is programmed to maximize for the production of paperclips, at some stage it will destroy all life on the planet in the name of paperclip maximization. Eventually, the AI will develop interstellar travel and turn the universe into a paperclip production plant.

We name ourselves Paperclip in the recognition that poor systems and structures can result in significantly negative outcomes to society and that, as early investors and advisors, we can do our part to push the world towards a better path.

We back teams from the earliest stages with cheque sizes from $50K to $500K.
